Summer 2009 Programs
GRASP
Grasp is an eight week correspondence course which helps students (grades 1-8) maintain reading and math skills over the summer.
* Students recieve 10 modules at the end of the school year.
* They complete the weekly lessons (Approx. 1 hour per week)
* Mail lessons to this office.
* Lessons are scored and returned.
Softball
The summer softball program, which runs about eight weeks beginning mid-June, includes girls and boys grades 2-8. The purpose of the league is to provide EVERY child an opportunity to take part in every game his/her team plays. Our emphasis is on recreation, participation and sportsmanship, not on winning. We expect parents to help this program and the children by setting good sportsmanship examples. Games are played at Veterans Park in Powers and at the Carney field near the school.
Tee-ball
Tee-ball is very similar to baseball, except that no pitcher is used. Instead, the ball is struck off a "tee" which is placed on the ground near home plate. This program is for children ages 4, 5, 6 and 7. It is designed to be a training program that will promote development of physical coordination, instruction, participation, and learning about "team play." It begins around mid-June, and lasts until the last week of July. Games are played at Veterans Park in Powers, the Hermansville Little League field, and at the Carney field near the school.
